Kempa stands for handball. As a move and as a brand. The sport is characterised by agility, power, emotions and goosebump moments. We stand for exactly those moments – in handball, in team sports. Always with a clear goal in mind: to improve and to win – because we fight for triumph.

Kempa exists since 2002, but we have been famous for much longer. Almost 50 years before the brand was founded, on 24 March 1954, the legendary Kempa trick celebrated its world premiere. Invented, developed and executed by two-time field handball world champion Bernhard Kempa. The brand is named after him and another tribute to the handball genius.

In only a few sports jerseys are torn as extremely as in handball, nowhere do shoes have to be matched so precisely to the various types of players. These factors have to be taken into account in order to raise product quality to a new level. So we analyze what the athletes need, incorporate the direct feedback into the development process and thus offer a complete range – from shoes, wax, balls and jerseys to sports bags. Technically we are progressive, visually we set accents, keep an eye on cultural trends and sometimes break out.

Kempa equips multiple national handball teams, provides the equipment for numerous national and international clubs and sponsors handball stars such as Uwe Gensheimer, Jannik Kohlbacher and Xenia Smits. We cooperate closely with specialists such as the world-famous tyre manufacturer Michelin and the textile professional Matryx. We integrate their expertise into our final products and make them even better.

To date, the brand focus has been on handball, but the portfolio has grown to include other team sports. Wrestling and volleyball, fencing and hockey, beach volleyball and bowling – Kempa is team sport. And every sport, every athlete, every specific product has different requirements. Kempa meets them all.
