Conscious use of environmentally friendly materials

Our products are meticulously and regularly checked for harmful substances and chemicals. The absolute compliance with the Restricted Substances List (RSL) and the European chemicals regulation REACH is important to us and is guaranteed for all products.

Through our accurate quality management, we do our part, check the legal requirements and dutifully realize them to limit the environmental impact on humans and animals. More and better QA prevents defective goods, quality and non-quality returns and reduces shipping in exchange and disposal quantities. If we still have merchandise that cannot be resold but is still defect free, it will be donated.

Functionality and sustainability

Our goal is to offer athletes the optimal functionality. Therefore, we follow a strict quality management with the latest technology and subject all textiles products to mechanical and chemical tests.

For textiles, we test the so-called bursting strength (= tear resistance) as well as the color fastness of the articles in addition to the washing behavior and the friction resistance. Fiber by fiber, we look at all the details and improve the sustainability of our range. Our products are declared in accordance with the Textile Labeling Act and meet all safety requirements of the Product Safety Act.

For our hard goods, we test the different items for perfect performance, their durability and the non-use of hazardous substances. Only the best product can uncompromisingly support the athletes and help them to achieve their best performance.

Consistent social standards in the supply chain

One of our most important efforts is to ensure that all products are not only human-ecologically flawless and of excellent quality, but also that they are manufactured in all partner companies according to defined social standards.

We, the uhlsport GmbH, demand that our production facilities consistently comply with globally valid, accepted and binding social standards.
With our membership in amfori /BSCI – Trade with purpose we commit ourselves to the fulfilment of far-reaching social standards in the manufacture of our products. These include, in addition to occupational safety measures, in particular the regulation of working hours, appropriate remuneration, humane working conditions, the provision of health and social facilities as well as the clear prohibition of any form of child labour, forced labour or discrimination.

We are also working with other international garment companies to promote an agreement developed by trade unions and labour rights organisations to improve fire and building safety in Bangladesh – Accord on Fire and Buildung Safety in Bagladesh. In this way we are making a contribution to improving the working environment of our suppliers and assuming social responsibility in our production countries.

Accord is an independent, legally binding agreement between brands and trade unions to work towards a safe and healthy garment industry in Bangladesh. We want to create a working environment where no worker need be afraid of fire, building collapse or other accidents and hazards that can be prevented with appropriate health and safety measures.
