Kempa and Planet Eater Enter Combat Sports Partnership
Balingen – Kempa and the PLANET EATER Martial Arts School have joined forces in a landmark partnership. One of Europe’s leading handball brands will serve as the exclusive sportswear outfitter for Baden-Württemberg’s top MMA gym for the next two years.
The Kempa/Planet Eater collection includes exclusive performance gear and streetwear items, with a wide range of merchandise for fighters and combat sports fans to follow. The collection is being developed in close collaboration with PLANET EATER and its athletes, led by owner and head coach Peter Sobotta.
“This is, apart from my UFC contracts, the biggest partnership I’ve ever entered into,” says Sobotta. “I’m incredibly proud and happy that the members of my gym and our competition team will now be kitted out by the same brand that supplies HBW Balingen and traditional clubs like Stuttgarter Kickers and Waldhof Mannheim.”
“The trust that the uhlsport group has placed in us, and the opportunities this partnership brings for the German combat sports scene, are of tremendous importance,” continues the 38-year-old Balingen native. “Everyone I’ve spoken to on my team so far is absolutely thrilled about it.”
PLANET EATER plans to invest the majority of the partnership’s proceeds into youth and amateur sports. “We’ve got over 300 young athletes dreaming of a professional career,” says Sobotta. “Thanks to Kempa’s support, we now have the opportunity to send them to competitions and championships across Germany to gain valuable experience.”
For its part, Kempa is investing further in the development of clothing and equipment specifically tailored to MMA fighters. The Balingen-based company already brings considerable expertise in protective gear and goalkeeper gloves—knowledge it is now applying to combat sports apparel.
