Kempa becomes official partner of the Handball Bundesliga GmbH
Cologne/Balingen, January 8, 2024 – Kempa, a sportswear and sports lifestyle manufacturer, is now an official partner of the Handball Bundesliga GmbH. The partnership includes numerous activations such as advertising space and hospitality at high-profile HBL handball events. Both companies have agreed to a minimum partnership term of four years.
As the official equipment partner, the entire HBL crew will be outfitted with Kempa sportswear at the HBL Super Cup and the REWE Final4 for the DHB Cup. This will include extensive logo presence in the HBL environment, such as on the HBL homepage, and an official HBL collection distributed by both partners.

The season highlight of German handball with great national and international appeal, the German handball cup final is an integral part of the partnership. At the REWE Final4 for the DHB Cup, Kempa will be present as the “Official Equipment Supplier of the LIQUY MOLY Handball Bundesliga” with LED advertising boards, video clips, hospitality, promotions, and an advertising package. The event I expected to draw 20,000 spectators to Cologne’s LANXESS arena and will be watched by over a million viewers on various screens globally.
Similar activations are included in the partnership at the HBL Super Cup. At the official season opening of the handball Bundesliga, the German Champion and the DHB Cup winner will compete for the season’s first title in the sports city of Düsseldorf. Next year, the HBL event will be enhanced for the first time by the Super Cup of the Women’s Handball Bundesliga. This event at the start of the season completes the activation by Kempa, the sportswear and sports lifestyle manufacturer.

Kempa will also be advertised on “HBL TV,” the HBL’s own streaming platform, internationally oriented. Likewise, in the environment of the HBL app “START7,” the world’s first handball fantasy manager game, which the HBL successfully operates as an additional digitalization project.
The cooperation between Kempa and the HBL GmbH is rounded off by year-round communication measures, which are implemented, among other things, on the official HBL website and on the high-reach social media channels of the Handball Bundesliga GmbH.
